A Fusion of Outstanding American Furniture Brands

Back in 1908, the American Fixture and Manufacturing Company achieved official incorporation in the state of Missouri. The year 1939 marked a pivotal moment when, recognizing the widespread use of chrome and aiming to explore new market opportunities, the company transformed into Chromcraft. In 1955, Chromcraft was firmly established as an independent, standalone company.

Today it has swept into the furniture e-commerce space with its new digital property Chromcraft Home.

In the early 1900s, Samuel and Libby Cohen embarked on a journey that would lead to the creation of the world's largest dinette set manufacturer: Douglas. This family-owned business initially took root in Chicago but later relocated to Southern California and eventually Mexico after years of manufacturing success.

Meanwhile, the Cochrane Furniture story began in 1905 in Lincolnton, North Carolina, specializing in crafting mantels and showcases. In 1928, Cochrane Furniture Company was officially incorporated, and over time, it gained recognition as a prominent leader in producing high-quality solid wood dining, bedroom, and upholstery furniture, earning a reputation for excellence by the mid-1990s.

In 1946, T. L. Peters laid the foundation for the Peters Manufacturing Company in Delphi, Indiana, crafting unique wall racks. A year later, George Revington joined the company, which later became Peters-Revington in 1958. Peters-Revington quickly rose as a leading producer of affordably priced occasional furniture, including tables, wall systems, entertainment consoles, and curios, within the United States.

In 1963, Mohasco orchestrated the acquisition of Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, and three other furniture manufacturers, securing its position as one of the globe's largest Home Furnishings Companies.

In 1992, Mohasco opted to spin off Chromcraft and Peters-Revington, giving birth to Chromcraft Revington. In 1996, Chromcraft Revington expanded its portfolio by acquiring Cochrane.

Fast forward to 2008, Arts and Crafts Industries acquired the intellectual property and specific assets of Douglas.

Finally, in 2015, Arts and Crafts Industries continued its expansion by acquiring the intellectual property and select assets of Chromcraft Revington, leading to the creation of Chromcraft Revington Douglas Ind. Ltd (CRD).
